Patton Hall Laboratory

The Patton Hall Laboratory is located in the main central campus of Virginia Tech inside the Civil Engineering Building Patton Hall. This laboratory is mainly used for teaching undergrad and graduate students although some research testing is also performed here. This laboratory is equipped with state of the art consolidation, shear strength, soil sample preparation, and index properties equipment that the students can use and learn during their duration at Virginia Tech.  Some of the equipment located in this laboratory includes but are not limited to:

• • Fully automated and manual triaxial devices.
  • Automated consolidation devices that can perform incremental stress and constant rate of strain consolidation.
  • Direct shear devices.
  • Among others.
